A place I knew nothing of until I began planning an epic overlanding trip to Kyrgyzstan. I instantly knew it was going to be a highlight. The ancient Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva are a photographer's dream. Then there's Tashkent with exemplary Soviet architecture including the once forbidden to photograph metro. Don't forget the landscapes: steppes, deserts and 4000M+ mountains.
